A Berlin street, 1945. Allies have to capture the street in house-to-house combat. defeat and remove all enemies from each house for a certain length of time to call that area as captured.

Description :

Installation: Put the pk3 file into the etmain folder.

Num players : The more the merrier.

Objectives :

The first buildings to capture are marked by a red flare (which turns blue when Allies capture the flag and red on Axis recapture).

Flags (which are always on the ground floor) must be held by the Allies for a total of 90 seconds to make the capture permanent.

At that point the flare turns yellow, indicating that Allies must now eliminate all Axis defenders in the building to secure it. So long as at least one Axis defender remains alive in the building, it remains unsecured. When the flare turns yellow Axis have 20 seconds to re-occupy the building - after that time as soon as no Axis soldiers remain alive in the building it is secured.

When the first buildings are secured the yellow flares are extinguished and red flares are lit outside the next buildings to be captured. In this way Allies progress up the street, trying to secure a total of 7 buildings to win.

There are no dummy windows in the map, which means every window opening potentially conceals an enemy soldier: so advancing in the open street is a risky business. Allied cov ops will need to provide smoke cover and seek out enemy snipers to assist the advance of Allied troops.

I liked the new idea of using the smoke, but this is just a suggestion, don't take it wrong way. I think it might be a little more interesting if the allies have to escort tank thru city to get or destroy an objective...or something similar. Maybe the axis could even be required to escort a tank also and each team would need to damage each other's tanks.
or objective could be for axis to protect bridge and allies to try and cross bridge, with axis mgnests/tanks/etc along the path.

just a thought.

Thanks for the feedback lazywolf, I appreciate it. I hope that you'll find the map plays more interestingly once players get used to the unique way it operates.

I did consider escort a tank, blow a bridge etc, but decided they've all been done a zillion times in ET and I like to try to provide something different. What makes this map unique is that to progress the allies have to actually eliminate all axis players in the building - which is in keeping with the house-to-house combat I was trying to recreate.

When I spec the map being played though I can see that the axis players generally don't realize they need to occupy the attacked buildings to prevent the allies advancing to victory. It is all explained on the command map and in the in-game objective messages, but often players don't read them and so don't understand what they should be doing.

Hopefully once players begin to understand the best tactics the map should become a more interesting challenge smile
