* Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP OS (Windows NT 4.0 not recommended for clients)
* 100% Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP compatible system (including all 32bit drivers)
* Intel® Pentium® III 600Mhz processor or AMD equivalent
* 128 MB RAM
* 32 MB 100% fully OpenGL® compliant 3-D video card

II. Known Issues
PunkBuster
It is highly recommended that you always host games with PunkBuster on... and only join servers with PunkBuster on. This is an excellent tool for preventing cheating.
There are a few times when we suggest you not host PunkBuster games. You should not host a game on PunkBuster if you are running a Listen server (playing on the same machine that is hosting). You should not host a game on PunkBuster if you are running a dedicated on a small LAN that is not connected to the Internet. Doing so may cause minor performance issues and doesn't do much good.
If you change a PunkBuster cvar, there are no commands to restore your settings to default.
If you host a Listen server, you will be unable to chat through the web tool.
PunkBuster should auto-update when new versions are available. In the event that this does not happen or the update fails, the user can manually update PunkBuster. Once the game has been launched, type the following commands into the console (`)
1. \pb_cl_enable (please check the version number)
2. \pb_sv_enable (please check the version number)
3. \pb_sv_update (this will send a request to the master server for the update. This process may take several minute depending on computer and connection speed.)
4. After the download process is done the user will see a message stating "PunkBuster Server: PunkBuster Server (v1.xxx I axxxx c1.xxxx Enabled)"
Cvar issues
Most options that you would consider wanting to use can be set from somewhere in the UI (user interface) - from the options or controls menu, or in one of the in-game menus. Further, chances are that if an option isn't set in the UI somewhere, it's not relevant to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. You should, therefore, use the UI options instead of console commands to set options wherever possible. Console commands may produce unexpected results and should generally be avoided.
The following commands are some of the common ones that expert players may be familiar with from other games - but do NOT work in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory:
\g_synchronousclients (removed)
\r_stencilbits (crashes game)
\r_texturebits (defaults to 0 after crash, visual artifacts)
\sv_reconnectlimit (not functional)
\r_smp (set to 1 is not supported)
\g_drawammowarning (not functional)
\r_debugsort (crashes PC)
\r_showimages (not supported)
The following commands are some of the common PunkBuster commands that are different in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (as the writing of this document):

Server Issues
- Creating / joining Fireteams
The maximum number of players in a Fireteam is 6. After a fireteam is at 6, no one else will be allowed to join until someone leaves or is kicked out of the group.
- Saving Server Options
Please be aware that no create server options are saved until you actually hit "Accept" and start a server. If you make changes to the server settings and then don't start the server, you'll lose your changes. Saving on the Advanced Server Settings screen will not be affected by changes you make on this screen as they are saved separately.
- Max Players + Hunkmegs
The maximum number of players for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is 32 total and 16 for each side; the server host can set this to a lower number from the Multiplayer/Create Server menu. It is highly recommended that these numbers are not exceeded. In games that include players using dial-up connections, no more than 8 players are recommended.
If you wish to host more than 32 players on the server (not recommended), you will need to increase the memory allocated to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. If you don't, the game will likely fail to start with a "Hunkmegs" error. To increase the memory, open the console and type "\com_hunkmegs 128"
- Repeated Map Restarts
Repeatedly restarting the server can cause a crash. It is not recommended that you do this more than a few times in a row.
Graphics Issues
- 32-bit vs. 16-bit Color Depth
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory defaults to your desktop color depth. We strongly recommend that you play it in 32-bit color depth. You may change this setting to 16-bit, but it is not officially supported. If you decide to make this change, you may notice graphics problems and artifacts on your screen. Also, during preliminary testing, there was not much of a performance increase by making this switch. Please do so at your own risk.
- Windowed Mode
Playing Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory in a window will cause the top portion of the screen to be cut off. This is due to the Windows title bar being drawn on top of the game window.
- Menu Sliders
None of the slider menus update in real time. For example, you will not see changes in brightness or sound when changing a slider.
Ingame Issues
- Dual Monitor Support
Dual monitors are not supported by Enemy Territory and may cause the game to function improperly.
- Prone Players and Airstrikes
Brave players can go prone on Airstrike markers, block the visual cue, and cause them to be aborted if done early enough.
- Inactivity
If the player inactivity is set on a server it still counts down even if a player is only using his mouse. The mouse input is not counted towards activity.
- Multiple Instances
Running multiple instances of the game on the same system can cause graphics problems. This is not recommended.
- Reviving Underwater
Players awaiting revival cannot be revived while underwater.
- Uninstalling the Game
If the uninstaller is cancelled during the uninstallation process, the game will not be removable via the uninstaller. You will have to manually uninstall the game.
- Shell Default Button
Pressing the default button in the shell will not reset the mouse sensitivity setting.
- Foreign Characters
Some foreign characters are not supported and will not be displayed properly in the game. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory has been tested with US versions of the operating systems. Compatibility may not be 100% with other versions.
- Performance Boosters
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory allows you to customize your settings so that you can improve the visuals or decrease them. Some of them have a greater impact on performance than others. Below are some settings that will improve your performance, but at the expense of the visuals:
1. Set the system options to 'Fastest'
2. \com_maxfps (set to a high number i.e 400)
3. \cg_atmosphericeffects 0
4. \cg_wolfparticles 0
5. \r_fastsky 1
6. \r_picmip 3
7. \cg_drawgun 0

i have to say im impressed. they defenetly suped up the netcode....been playing all night and didnt lag once.
although i still kinda hate the original map. its still super unbalanced. the rest of the maps however were great. the gold heist one, i was lmao the whole time. you steal a panzer bust into town, rob a german bank of their gold, load it onto a truck and make your escape. it was hilarious.
the train one, that ones confusing still...not exactly sure what your supposed to accomplish when youre the allies. can you blow up those 2 tugs? im sure ill get it by tommorrow.
only thing that still bugs me (im new to rtcw so it could be like this in that game too) is the weapon physics. ill shoot a guy in the face point blank and he manages to still kill me. its strange, ill be having a shootout with someone and it seems to me like im hitting him but i guess not. i dunno, hopefully that clicks for me.

Im dlin it know and #28's link does work but its slower on mine than 310 kb only about 90, 95, 100 or so kb but this thing kicks @$$ oh yea and leading off the target like in bf helps a lot
Although, overall, I'm very impressed with the full release of Enemy Territory, I'll admit that it's far from perfect. My main gripe is that the levels are far too large and confusing. Sure, over a short period of time, I'll get used to the layouts of the various maps, but - overally - they seem a bit rushed in terms of design.
That's not to say that the levels don't look amazing, though, as nothing could be further from the truth. The beach map in ET looks absolutely breathtaking, as do the two maps that introduce weather effects into the series. Unfortunately, the weather effects add little to the gameplay, and they merely eat away at your framerate.
The objectives are much more varied than the normal 'steal this, blow up that' formula we're all used to. Sadly, the Axis are still mainly playing defense the entire time. That's pretty discouraging, since I prefer to play as the Axis. 
I believe they've remedied the physics problems that were quite obvious in the map test. And - if I'm not mistaken - you actually move much faster than before, which is quite welcomed.
In conclusion, I'll still probably play the original RtCW over this one. However, ET definitely doesn't tarnish the series' image. I honestly think it'll appeal more to fans of MoHAA, since it feels a bit more realistic than RtCW did.
Oops…I have no idea how I got 'overally' out of 'overall'. Oh well, I'm sure you all know what I meant.

Has anyone else had problems installing this game? ive dowloaded it twice first time then download messed up and i didnt get all the file but now i hav it all but an 'instalation file is corrupt' and i can only instal 86% b4 the install program tells me it cant do any more.. i luved the test and really wana play the full game its so annoying...
Yeh i havet played the game much yet due to my mouse completely fu<kin up but wat i have seen so far im pleased with. im very pleased that all the bad comments they have been given they have changed and improved! i was just wondering on map oasis or sumthing wat the hell are the ammo paks. i can hardly recognise them

I, personally am quite dsappointed by this full release, they put the wrongs sound scripts in if you ask me, when i fire, it hits the target and does whatever damage normally, but the sound lags behind and is quite annoying, i have no idea whether i'm hitting the wrond button or what... i don't like the voices either, i actually liked the test voices, and the RtCW voices at that, better than these hands down! this game is actually kindof annoying, the maps are crap, the sounds are crap, and well, despite popular belief, the graphics aren't really that good. Besides, WHY THE HELL WOULD WE WANT TO BE ANYTHING LIKE MOHAA???? THAT'S THE *****TIEST(OOPS) CRAPPIEST GAME EVER!

Why are they giving this away? What is their objective? I'm not complaining I just don't understand. People are in business to make money not be nice. Maybe they plan to make another version once people are hoked? Or maybe start subscriptions like Ultima Online? Does anyone know why they made a stand alone game and just gave it away?
I love RTCW and like ET!
It was originally to be a full, standalone release that would include both single player and multiplayer modes. The single player mode was far different from that of RtCW, as it was supposed to have you commanding a group of soldiers to complete various objectives. Unfortunately, the single player portion of the game wasn't coming along too well.
However, the multiplayer portion was coming along quite well. A decision had to be made. If they continued with the single player game and it turned out to be total crap, THEN released it to the public, it would tarnish the entire series' appeal. If they completely cancelled the game, they'd disappoint so many fans that were looking forward to the release.
Basically, the choice to release the game as a free multiplayer package was their way of meeting us in the middle. They didn't give us the entire package, but they didn't charge us for it. Furthermore, they showed us how much they actually care about their fans.
Thanks for clearing that up. Are tehy still working on a single player mode for use some time in the future? I hope so I love multi-player, but sometimes it's good to be ol' BJ

Well I finally got it:-) And It looks quite good, but then again what do I know of it looking good...I'm playing with the lowest graphics possible As for maps imo Rail Gun, Fuel Depot and the last one of North African campaign are nice, but the others seem just a little too easy for the Allied side. Rain and snow are nice additions, but they also make me lag :-(. I just wish there were more maps.
I haven't heard anything about a single player mode being implemented in the future. Then again, it's not as though I'm really well informed or anything. I just followed the development of ET really closely through various gaming news Web sites.
The development of ET was pretty screwed up from the beginning. I simplified it in my original explanation. In actuality, the game was SUPPOSED to be an expansion pack for RtCW, thus meaning that it would require either the original RtCW or the GotY RtCW in order to play. However, the changes to the gameplay in general made it impractical to make it an add-on.
(Seeing as how virtually everything they altered in the map test was changed back to the way things were implemented in RtCW, however, there's no reason they couldn't have simply made it an expansion pack. Still, no complaints from me.)
Anyway, after realizing just how many alterations they needed to make to the gameplay, they decided to make it a standalone game. Thus, my explanation of it being a standalone single player AND multiplayer game. In a way, I'm glad the single player game never saw the light of day. If another game in the series is planned, I'd like to see the gameplay remain similar to that of RtCW. Despite other peoples' arguments regarding the quality of the single player experience in RtCW, I felt that certain moments in the gameplay were uncontested in terms of originality, execution, and adrenaline. *****ault, anyone?
This is really odd. Does anyone know why mine will not work.
First, I look everywhere for a place where the server is not full, then when I download it, I have the same problem as when I tried the test. Basically when I click to install it, it gives me the normal "InstallShield" screen then when I click Next it just crashes. Wtf?!?!!?
If anyone can tell me a way to remedy this, it will be much appreciated.

I have been enjoying ET. But today when I try to find a game there is none shown. My connection to the internet is good and I have been able to play as late as yesterday. Anyone else having problems? Maybe they are working on the servers or something.
I just set up my own server and punkbuster says I have an old version C103 or something. Wow I just downloaded it yesterday.

I`ve downloaded ET twice. during the instal it says after 86% that I have an I/O error. t he file is good but it doesn`t instal. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Every time I go on a PunkBuster Enabled server, i get some sort of "Cvar_somethingsomething=0 must be at least 1!!"
I have absolutely NO IDEA as to what this problem is. Does anyone else have this problem, because i only d/loaded it 2 days ago very successfully.

I enjoy playing ET and like the features such as the rankings and some new weapons. However I have found that after playing on any of the servers that I get kicked out with the following error message "CL_PARCELPACKETIDENTITIES ERROR"
Does anyone know what causes this and how to I correct the problem. It gets very frustrating when you have your rating up and then you have to restart from scratch!
The error message was "CL_P*****PacketEntities . End of Message"

Could or would anybody get the maps from RTCW to work on Enemy Territory?

i cant beleave this. i posted a link to a site that i downloaded from because the cluster was 100%,i was post number 20 something, but the mods deleted my post. wtf, i was only trying to help people get this great game faster. now you make them sit in line to wait for it, great job guys, glad the people that made rtcw are a bit more considerate then you guys.

i like it alot, nice maps, nice skins, and an overall nice appeal....it definately is worth the long overdue wait.
And FileFront is busy, because it is used by so many sites, but it is one of the best and most reliable (security and file condition wise) downloading site out there.
I finally figured out my problem. If you are using a firewall it must be disabled. If you don't no games will show up. (Post #51, 52)
AHHHHH! i'm having hella problems w/ et! i just get booted from servers and it says "bad textures" or something. Then sometimes, it says "error, unknown problem" and sometimes it says "cd key used by another ip! WTF is wrong with it! i've gotten other problems too, like sometimes it'll just reboot the whole pc!?!? what's with that! ARGH! nothing worse than a game that works fine for a week then BAM hits you w/ 5 million problems! can ne one help?

1) takes over 5 min to laod a level
2) when it finaly loads it goes into limbbo mode then flashes in and out of limbow to specatator (liek a strobe)
3)i cant click on anything
4)the leters are cut up and most of them dont show (only once im in a game)

My stats for kills and death keep adding while everyone elses resets. Everyone thinks I am cheating, but I never have. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know why it happens and how to fix it? Hope so because being called a cheat is no fun, I despize cheats.

How come E-T doesnt come with joystick support like RTCW did? Theres joystick commands in the etconfig...but nothing in game whatsoever.

I had a similar problem. On 1.0, my Wolf Sp wouldn't start. It would say GlLaunch error or something like that. People were telling all this stuff about Virtual Memory, and I upgraded to 1.4. Now it works fine.

You are probably using Windows XP's native drivers for your video card, which do not include openGL support. Try downloading updated video drivers from your video card manufacturers website.

Hey all, i am new to this and i have been playing for about 2 days,well for some reason when i start up the game and connect to a server it runs fine,but then when there is a map change or if i wanna go to a diffferent server,It takes Forever to load then when it finally loads i get a message say unknown error server disconnected for unknown reasons,and to play again i have to Restart the Whole game and then i get to play once and i have to do that same thing Over and over again it i very annoying, Yes i have downloaded the patch.I dont get what the Problem is,Any help on this would be Very appericiated.......

Sure ET is great, but I'd like to see the Canadian's come into play in RTCW or ET. American's always critisize the country, but they no nothing about Canadian history, like Vinny Ridge, Junno Beach, whatever, I'm not going to go on about Canadian history, but I will say something, the only thing with this gamer that has to do with Canada is a skin pack, and American's critisized that! I don't care what you want to believe, don't disgrace the brave soldiers who fought for the Canadian military, cuz if you do, you're the desgrace, a disgrace tot he world, pick up a freakin textbook! anyway, I'd love to see map's of Canadian battle, such as Vinny Ridge and Juno Beach and Dieppe, also, I'd like to be able to parachute, anyway thats my comment, hope ya make the maps.

Im not sure if this has been posted yet but i dont wanna read all 124 posts. Every now and then whentrying to get into a server it disconnects me and gives me a CD Key error. WTH is that mess, ET doesnt require a CD Key??? Someone help.

I don't think that ET has anything on the original RTCW, it still needs a little tweaking in order to even compare to th kind of "freemoving" action on RTCW, in other words , long live RTCW, and ET, i'll see you when you get there!!

Radar is a laggy ***** map.
Great game all who were involved in creating it and perfecting it! !May your enemy never see you coming upon them, may all your shots count (except on me... ) My problem is that when I try to log into some servers I bounce out with a message saying that No valid CD Key is reaching the server. It isn't with all the servers and it usually goes away if I shut the game down and open it again or if I shut the PC down and start up. Do I need a patch? The same download is being used on another machine at the office at the same time. Is each download *****igned its own key and therefore both cannot log into the same gameserver at the same time? Itching to shoot with or at my buddies in the office!! Thanks for the fun!!!! Must PayPal you when I have money!

I should have said before this but whatever:
I was kinda disapointed, but not that much, first.
The maps are quite good yes, but where they forgot the good ol RTCW style maps? (destruction is example)
The campaing system is good, but it has problem:
When you get most of your skills full, you can kill whole enemy team with one SMG clip, and it gets annoying that one ***-*** rushes with MP40 and slaugtheres 14 people. Dont whine that i dont have skills, but have you ever encoutered that 14 guys are against one medic and the medic kills em all?
Graphics are updated yes, but it reguires more power from machine, for low-end machines, original RTCW is beter choise even its bit more laggy.
Netcode is well maded, not lagging so much anymore.
Mortars are good addon too but it usually ends up that people rapes enemy spawn area with mortars and causes lot of whines and votes that kick the guy who rapes the spawn with mortar. (not forgettin the mortar exploit that allows you to shoot with mortar even its not deployed)
Rifles were a HUGE disapoint, yes its nice that Yanks can shoot with M1 or germans with G43 but:
Only use for them is sniping or rifle grenades, even pistol is more accurater than rifle without scope (try shooting MG out from 60 meters with pistol and then with rifle, you will hit with pistol but there is low change hit by rifle if you dont use scope), and theyre quite underpowered (may take even 6 - 7 shots to get some medic down), and you dont get much ammo for them.
Sorta disapoint.
Gameplay is the same usually, but with the new tricks (such tanks that are escortable and etc), the new engineer features are good yes, covert ops are useful too but when there are 8 covert ops in your team everybody running with enemy uniform, its just bad imagine about original RTCW.
Even there is mod(s) fort RTCW that gives the steal ability, mostly RTCW is full-waging-war with tommyguns and schmeissers (before someone makes comment after this, i know that Erma originally designed MP40 but it was developwed with schmeisser too) with good ol maps.
ET is good try being a free game but since if the ET would originally be the expansion to RTCW, how the community would be now?

Due the single player developement didnt work on Splash Damage, Activision took the plug out of project but due the new MP systems and etc, Activision decided to make it free multiplayer game.

Yes, ET is multiplayer only... There's no computer AI in the game at all, it's all played against living, breathing people, behind a screen, just like you, screaming as I tear them apart >=D

I downloaded ET exe and when i goto install it it comes up with Program to big to fit in memory. My system meets all the requirements and more. Anybody else had this? Any ideas how to fix it

THAT is where you are wrong. While MoH blows, CoD is hands down the best WWII experience in a videogame yet. it's far more historically accurate than ET, has better graphics, sound, and incredibly better gameplay. i think ET would have been allright if they hadn't made it a WWII shooter. the other competition in that genere, along with the high bar set by others makes ET look sad from it's many gaping flaws. not sure what other kind of genere this could have been. it's kinda fun, but it's not fun as a WWII shooter.

I just got a new computer cause my custom computer i had before took a ***** on me.....and my new computer has windows vista........and i downloaded the game and every server i try to join i get an error.....file missing or some *****......does this game work with windows vista?????

Famouskevin when you go to open ET right click the icon and run as administrator, the first round or so will lag but then it will run like normal.

My guess is to just download that .dll. Our head admin uses Vista Ultimate and his works fine. Ugh, I HATE it when 10 year olds get onto the internet and whine because they don't know what a .dll is. Heck, they can't even SPELL! Grammar is the first step to not looking like a complete and utter idiot. Step two, don't abuse the phrase "noob".....

i have vista yeah yeah it always worked b4 and i just tried playing again so it started up i cant see but i can hear then it gets to menu you can only see bits and pieces of it and when u move ur mouse its so slow it shows 500 of them and i tried updating patch reinstalling uniin stalling and downloading again and doing everything but same problem everytime and i tried that run by adminastrator but doesn work either

Hey I have Vista as well...I had same dll error for a while..but I fixed that...I run the game as Admin and it starts but about 5-10 mins into playing a map it crashes and says "WIndows is searching for a solution..." then it just makes me End Program...wtf is going on?

Just all the autodownloads (like some stupid clan menus and backgrounds) are tiring me to dead. re-install, re-instal, re-instal, ....
compared to some other free game/s (wich are most of the time crap like 'Tremolous') i give this game a 8/10

i downloaded this game and it installed perfectly, but when i try to play the game i get al kinds of errors:
invalid GUID (reconnect or restart game dosn't solve the problem)
disconnected for unknown reason (reconnect or restart the game wont help)
often when i try to reconnect i may not attempt to reconnect for another 2 minutes (this pi..es me off)
and
kicked by punkbuster: empty cd-key not allowed on this server (almost every server)
can sombody plz help me? im getting really frustrated over here.
