Story:
This addon is based on real historical events which took place during the World War II battle for Stalingrad (Now known as Volgograd). A troop of 57th infantry division stayed behind in the city after the Germans had tkaen it over. A few soldiers led by Gennady Lukovoi continued to deliver diversional strikes in the city and nearbyvillages which was very damamging to the German military machine.

After a few months Lukovoi was captured by Germans. He was liberated in 1945 by Soviet troops, but charged with being a traitor in 1947. He was executed by shooting on November, 12, 1947.

	Readme File: Prepare for battle in Stalingrad! - 10 Levels - Scripted Events - Cutscenes - Hard Enemys - NPC Comrades Note about the Special Version: This was kindly created by Vicpas, author of The Fortress. It contains all the essential files with all extraneous data removed. It also requires a full copy of Return to Castle Wolfenstein installed to work. All menu screens are in English. It is suggested that you play this addon with the video option: Lightning: Vertex(low). This should make the maps clearer.

The bridge needs to be blown up before the game will let you proceed. The dynamite has to be planted underneath the arches. An icon will show-up at the right place.

If you go to http://www.PlanetPhillip.com, there is a comment that says every level is similiar. I read it before I played the game. It's true, every level is like a continuation of the previous level. Burned out buildings, lots of background machine gun noise, many Germans to kill. All Germans are crack shots. Dimm lighting througout, so use Lightning = (Low) from the System menu. That will make it easier to see. (Like all of the Russian addons, this game also overwrites your two dlls, so copy them first!).

Level 1 seems tough at first, but is actually quite easy. This is a game where you get real good at keeping your head low and using the sniper rifle, and don't rush into any room. Go easy and slowly all through the levels. The text and speech is all in Russian, but thankfully, the objectives of each level is usually to simply find the exit, which is pretty much at the other end of the level from where you start.

Levels 2-7, all look the same. Medium tough. Objectives are to find the exit at the end of the level. Lots of Germans, they are all excellent (perfect?) shots. On one of the levels you need to pick up a scientist's manual. It wasn't that hard to find. Very straightforward levels, all of them.

Level 8, interesting level. The Germans counterattack down a narrow street behind a tank. Your will need to come up alongside them in a burned out building (aren't they all) and attack them from the side. There are at least 50 Germans, its a tough level. Use the flamethrower, which you should have picked up by now on a previous level. I fired the flamethrower through a window and got at least 30 of them before my health dropped low. I have not found a way to win without the tactic I just described with the flamethrower.

Level 9, You need to stop the Germans from crossing the bridge (this seemed almost easy if you find a machine gun). There are about 4 or 5 Russians to help you. Then you need to blow the bridge in two places. I can't remember where I got the dynamite from. There 3 objectives, kill all the Germans and cross over tpo the other side of the bridge and explore all around. Blow the bridge in two places.

Level 10, the toughest level. The Germans never miss! They own a factory (or is it an old school?) and you and a bunch of Russians need to take it. Very hard to fight your way to the upper floor. The last 4 Germans you can't kill, they are taken prisoner in the final cut scene. When there are only 4 Germans left, the exit appears in front of you, so don't bother trying to kill the last 4.

All in all, a medium to hard game, if you don't like the sniper rifle it will be very hard to finish.

Ive just installed it and played 3-4 levels (the latest wont let me finish cuss of some unfullfilled object) and so far its prob the best addon i tested for rtcw, sure it IS hard ,and the levels do look alike, but duh its set in SAME place, i never hear anyone complaining that Far cry has lookalike levels (which it kinda do, level after level is GREEN and more GREEN) and for the toughness of it, well yes, you die more easily than in vanilla, but adapt a more reallife tactic, swing a load of nades, retreat a lil behind cover, lure them *****s out and snipe their swastikayelding backsides stick out tongue

Umm its said the menus should be in eng, not for me, its all russki, so is that scripted introsequence one cannot skip (minus for that), but otherwise, i love the feel of this mod, its well worth a try (or two since its kinda hard), if you loved Stalin in CoD 1 youll love this too, i know i did big grin

For more realistic fun, also make sure you have the Additional weps mod, with the best rtcw wep ever aka the MP44, and more to the point the russian PPSh stick out tongue
